Event Details

We are proud to invite you to our next flow cytometry educational workshop, Flow Cytometry Panel Design Practical Workshop, on 17th October (Thursday) from 1 to 5pm at A*STAR.SIgN Seminar Room. This workshop is organised by Genomax Technologies and A*STAR's Singapore Immunology Network (A*STAR.SIgN).

With the addition of many novel dyes in the market as well as increased access to advanced flow cytometers, flow panels are growing at an astonishing rate. But an expanded panel leads to increased spectral overlap issues that will compromise population resolution and data quality. Therefore, significant forethought must be put into the initial panel design. This seminar will cover the considerations when creating a panel to limit the impact of spectral overlap and apply them to create a hypothetical panel in a practical exercise. As well as practical concepts to designing your own flow cytometry panels.

    Weili Xu

    Scientist at A*STAR SIgN

Dr Xu Weili is a Scientist at A*STAR’s Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN), working under Prof Lam Kong Peng, and a Flow Cytometry Enthusiast. For the past 10 years in his research journey, Dr Xu has been using cutting-edge flow cytometry concepts, platforms, and assays to advance his research interest in γδ immunology on various health topics, such as aging and gut-related diseases. Besides γδ T cells, Dr. Xu is also passionate about the immune system as-a-whole and has co-developed many high-dimensional flow cytometry panels with other immunologists, helping them unleash the untapped potential of high dimensional flow cytometry to further their research.
